Paper Weight (gsm): Grams per square metre — the mass of one square metre of paper. Higher gsm means heavier, thicker, stiffer paper. 70gsm is standard office copy paper; 80gsm is premium office paper. The weight perception of paper — how it feels in hand — is primarily determined by gsm. Heavier paper communicates quality but costs more and adds shipping weight.
Brightness (GE or ISO 2470): Measured as the percentage of blue-spectrum light reflected by the paper surface. A higher number means a whiter, brighter paper. Below 80 GE: budget/economy paper with visible cream or gray tone. 80–89 GE: standard commercial paper. 90–94 GE: premium office paper. 95+ GE: high-brightness or ultra-bright. Opacity (%): The percentage of light blocked by the paper. Low opacity (below 90%) causes show-through — content on one side of the paper is partially visible from the other side under backlight. Smoothness (Bekk seconds): Measures how smoothly air flows over the paper surface under controlled pressure. Higher Bekk seconds = smoother surface. 100–180 Bekk: suitable for laser printing. 50–100 Bekk: inkjet and uncoated commercial. Our 120–180 Bekk smoothness suits all standard office printing.
Ream Wrapper Printing: The most common form of branded copy paper. Your company logo, brand colors, product name, and contact information are printed on the ream wrapper (the paper sleeve that encloses 500 sheets).
