Kraft paper strips are narrow rolls of kraft paper slit to a specified width — they are base paper without adhesive. Paper tape is kraft paper strips with pressure-sensitive, water-activated (gummed), or heat-seal adhesive applied to one face. We supply kraft paper strips (base paper without adhesive) for applications where the customer applies their own adhesive or where no adhesive is required — such as machine-bundling applications where paper is used as a mechanical wrap. For adhesive tape products, we can refer to adhesive tape converters who would apply adhesive to our base kraft strips.
Our minimum strip width is 5mm, achievable with razor blade slitting on kraft paper grades up to 80gsm. For heavier kraft grades (above 80gsm), the practical minimum strip width is 8–10mm due to mechanical stress on very narrow strips during rewinding. Natural brown (unbleached) kraft retains the lignin from the wood fiber, giving it its characteristic brown color and higher inherent tear and burst strength. Bleached white kraft undergoes a bleaching process that removes lignin for a bright white appearance — useful for printable applications and food-contact packaging — but at slightly lower strength than natural kraft of the same gsm. For packaging and void fill, natural brown is typically chosen; for label backing, care tags, and printable applications, white bleached kraft is specified.

Tensile strength varies by paper grade and gsm. Indicative values (machine direction, MD): 35gsm natural kraft: approximately 2.0–2.5 kN/m; 60gsm natural kraft: approximately 3.5–4.0 kN/m; 80gsm natural kraft: approximately 4.5–5.5 kN/m; 120gsm natural kraft: approximately 6.0–7.5 kN/m. White bleached kraft of the same gsm is typically 10–15% lower in tensile strength. Tensile test results are available for production orders on request.
Trial orders: minimum 2 rolls per specified width — no minimum weight, shipped free via DHL Express. Individual rolls are banded with stretch film for protection. Rolls are then packed in export cartons (20–50 rolls per carton depending on roll diameter and weight) with cushioning between rolls.
